Introduction: I just started a fee-only Financial Planning company, and I wanted to meet other entrepreneurs to learn best practices and meet new people.
What's the one thing that you would like to get out of being part of this Meetup?: Learning from others who have successfully started businesses.
What was your most successful venture and what did you learn about yourself?: I have spent twenty years as an engineering manager and engineer at Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies. I loved working with great people on hard problems to create breakthrough solutions for customers.
What's your passion?: Home: Raising our three kids (ages 4, 3, and 1) to be great people. Work: Helping people obtain peace of mind that they are on track to meet their financial goals. (And, doing this in a very ethical, people-oriented, honest way.) Hobbies: Golf, biking, travel, and reading. (All these were much easier to do before kids!)
How many businesses have your started?: This is my first.
How long have you had an interest in Entrepreneurship?: I've been considering this career change for a few years, but decided to definitely make the change in the summer of 2007.
