Life sciences entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and investors are cordially invited to attend FountainBlue's Life Science Entrepreneurs' Forum, scheduled for Monday May 19, from 5:30 -7:30
We are delighted to announce our next panel, to be held on Monday, May 19, entitled "Trends In Medical Device Development". The moderator has assembled a top-notch group of experts for our FountainBlue life sciences entrepreneur series, to be held at the DLA Piper offices in East Palo Alto.
Fom tongue depressors, bandages, examination gloves and surgical instruments, to powered wheelchairs, infusion pumps and surgical needles, medical devices have changed the way physicians care for patients. This month, we have gathered a panel of venture capitalists and a serial entrepreneur to discuss exciting new developments in medical devices, from breast implants to pacemakers to heart valves and beyond, and to look at trends in medical device development and commercialization and their implications for life science entrepreneurs and those who finance them.
Facilitator/moderator:
--Bruce W. Jenett, Partner, Co-Chair, Global Life Sciences Sector, DLA Piper US LLP
Panelists:
--Rob Abrams, Operating Partner, Sanderling Ventures; former Vice President New Business Development/ New Ventures, Boston Scientific Corporation
--Richard M. Ferrari, Managing Director, De Novo Ventures
--William T. Harrington, MD, Partner, Three Arch Partners
--Geetha Rao, Serial Medical Device Entrepreneur and Executive
This panel will be a fun and informative "what's hot, where are we headed" panel.
It will be held from 5:30 pm (starts with a nice reception, panel starts about 6:15 pm or so) until 7:45 pm or so (including after-panel chit-chat with audience members), at our offices at 2000 University Circle (the complex of buildings just off 1010 at University across from the Four Seasons Hotel).
Our moderator plans an interactive discussion, a conversation among the panelists. There is a lot of preparation that he will lead with the panelists to enable a rich and dynamic discussion. We will have time for the usual audience Q&A (Audience members can ask a brief and relevant question)
The twin goals for the moderator are that (a) the audience have fun and learn something during the panel, and (b) the panelists have fun and also learn some interesting things.
All attendees have the opportunity to interact with and learn from others. Regardless of their experience, everyone learns something new at our meetings, meets great people, and has fun doing it.
