We are seeking volunteers and Green Company Displays & Demonstrations to be part of “Green Week” at Franklin D. Roosevelt Grade School in Hyde Park, MA. This event is scheduled for April 15th 16th & 17th 2009. (Wed., Thurs., Fri)
This school has recently been rehabbed and upgraded and part of it still under construction as a “Green Building Project”. They have applied for LEED, Silver Level, certification. Some people call this one of Mayor Menino’s pet projects. Construction by W.T.Rich, Contactors.
Thursday the 16th:
Volunteer Readers are needed to read to grade school students from green topic books. We need about a dozen volunteer readers that can read to grade schools students for about 35 – 45 minutes and end with about 10 - 15 minutes of questions and answers. Students range from 1st to 8th grade (ages 6-14). Readers can read from schoolbooks provided on site or from appropriate green themed publications of your choice. Volunteers may include Mayor Menino, City counselors, School System Facilitators, student family members and members of Boston area MeetUp groups.
Plan to arrive at Franklin D. Roosevelt Grade School, located at 95 Needham Rd. Hyde Park MA 02135 by 8:30am for refreshments and book assignments. Reading and Q&A with classes will be from 9am – 10am. There is plenty of parking available at the Stop & Shop on Truman Parkway (two blocks away).
