April's Idea Market is shaping up to be the biggest one yet!

We're going to be partnering with several student groups from Washingon University's schools of law, social work and business as we put our collective intelligence to work to help out CYDIE: The Center for Youth Development, Innovation and Education.

CYDIE's mission is "to provide highly-mobile and disconnected youth with a quality education, and opportunities to build social and economic capital, in order to ensure their successful transition into post-secondary education, the workforce and adulthood."

It looks like we'll be at the Business School, but I'll post the location details before our meeting Monday.

I'm also going to be unveiling a brand new activity centered around visual story telling.

UPDATES:

LOCATION: We'll be starting in the May Auditorium at the Washington University Olin School of Business, and using several other rooms at the school (including the courtyard if it is nice out).

Here's a link to driving directions. There's a parking garage on site, and I'm looking into parking passes, though parking shouldn't be too expensive and there's metered parking as well.

TIME: We'll start at 6:30 SHARP! Come early if you'd like to help us set up and do a bit of networking before we begin.

FOOD/DRINK: Several student groups are chipping in for food and drink.

We'll have plenty of room, so bring your friends!

The Twelfth St. Louis Idea Market has been "officially" canceled. Unofficially, the Idea Marketeers will convene on Monday, November 19th across the street from XPLANE's offices at the Old Rock House Bar from 6:30-8:30 pm.

We'll do a few activities, and get to know one another, but think of this Idea Market as more of a brainstorming session for the where's, how's, what's and why's for Idea Market 2008.

The ninth St. Louis Idea Market takes place Monday, August 20th at XPLANE's offices in the Art of Living Building from 6-9 pm.

The Art of Living Building is located at 1141 S. 7th Street (Map).

We'll be working on some BIG PICTURE things and focusing on some small and large group brainstorming. Bring your problems and challenges and we'll have plenty of time to work out solutions.

NOTE: I'm limiting the number of attendees to 50.

The eighth St. Louis Idea Market takes place Monday, June 18th at the Lucas School House from 6-9 pm.

In June, I'm introducing my new employer, XPLANE, as the title sponsor of the Idea Markets. We are going to continue to work together on ways to bring innovation and creativity into our professional lives. We are also going to spend some time thinking about ways to build a bigger community of innovators here in St. Louis.

One last thing: 'm looking for at least four deserving not-for-profits to benefit from some of our "brainstorming bandwith" at our June meeting.

The seventh St. Louis Idea Market (though just the second here on MeetUp) takes place Monday, April 16th at the Lucas School House from 6-9 pm.

In April, we are going to share ways to bring innovation and creativity into our professional lives. In addition, we'll spend some time doing "un-networking" and building a creativity manifesto. Finally, attendees will get a sneak-peak at some cool "secret" projects that Idea Market members are working on, including the next MySpace, an online training tool, and a new book about making meetings better.

And don't forget that April is National Autism Awareness Month. We'll devote a portion of our "brainstorming bandwith" to helping out this worthy cause.
